Once a year, the ALPS organises a “networking conference” at various venues on a rotating basis, with the aim of promoting the ongoing discussion about content, ideas, and current projects. The participants come together to explore the relationship between people and mountains in all its various facets.

This year's conference will take place on Wednesday, July 2, in Altdorf and is organized in collaboration with the Uri Institute Cultures of the Alps. It will be held under the theme "Klang/Sounds/Noise – What does the mountain sound like?". From musical traditions to acoustic challenges such as traffic noise, and innovative concepts in art and science – we aim to explore the many facets of this topic together and provide a unique, nationwide space for exchange.
